Status Board (Existing Characters)

How the status board's 0–100 numeric gauges behave in the chat room, and why new setup is no longer available.

The status board can no longer be set up. The creation screen no longer offers a status board tab, so you can't add one to a new character or edit existing fields. That said, characters that already have a status board configured still work exactly as before. This page is for creators and players of those characters.

The status board displays numeric gauges (0–100) like affection and trust in the chat room and lets the AI update those values as the conversation progresses. It's a presentation device for making changes in emotion or relationships visible.

What a status board field is made of

Each field on an already-configured status board consists of the following values.

ValueRole
Display nameThe gauge name shown in the room (e.g., Affection)
Default valueA starting value between 0 and 100
Progress bar colorThe gauge color
DescriptionThe basis the AI uses to judge how to move the value

Only numeric (0–100) fields are supported, and the default field is Affection.

How it gets reflected in the conversation

In a room with the status board on, the current numeric state is passed along in the prompt every turn, and the AI raises or lowers the values according to the flow of the conversation. Updated values are recorded turn by turn, so you can see via the gauges how the relationship has changed. A field's description is the basis for that judgment, so characters that spell out which situations raise or lower it move more naturally.

Things to know

The status board only applies to chat rooms started after it was configured. It isn't reflected in rooms that were already in progress beforehand, so if you don't see the gauges, try starting a new room.

There have been reports of the decorative styling of an AI message containing a status board leaking beyond that room to the entire screen. If a particular room looks broken, please contact customer support.
