Detail Mode Prompt

Learn how to choose a prompt template in Detail Mode and fill in the character settings (integrated info, custom instructions).

Detail Mode gives you more precise control over how the character responds. The order is to first pick a prompt template, then fill in the character settings accordingly.

Choosing a prompt template

system_prompt_id (the prompt template) becomes the base of the chat system prompt. Since it determines the foundation—output format, description guidelines, writing style—choose one that fits your work's purpose.

TemplateWhen to use it
1:1 BasicGeneral romance/narrative with one-on-one conversation with a single character
Simulation BasicSimulation-style play that drives a world or situation
Creator CustomWhen you want to write the entire set of instructions yourself

Filling in the character settings

This is where you write detailed information about the character, such as role, appearance, personality, and speech style. Where it's saved depends on which template you chose.

  • When you pick a template (1:1 or Simulation) → saved as integrated_info (character settings and info)
  • When you pick Creator Custom → saved as creator_custom_prompt

The two save methods are mutually exclusive. Depending on the template you choose, content is filled into only one of the two.

If you choose Creator Custom, you'll write the entire set of instructions from scratch without a prepared base. Because it offers high flexibility, you have to define even the output format and writing style yourself.

Character count and tokens

The limit varies by template type and the app language you're using. Only the Japanese (ja) environment gets higher limits; every other language environment (including English) shares the same limits.

CategoryAll languages except jaJapanese (ja) environment
Template (1:1 / Simulation)5,000 chars8,000 chars
Creator Custom7,000 chars10,000 chars

You can use the {{char}} and {{user}} insert buttons in the input field.

Don't put length instructions (e.g., "always write at least 2,000 characters") in the prompt. Response length is managed by the chat mode, so putting length instructions in the prompt causes a conflict that can truncate replies or lower quality. A warning banner is also shown on the editing screen.

The character type governs the assembly

Even for the same character, the type determines which fields the AI prompt is assembled from.

  • Default (default) type → uses integrated_info or creator_custom_prompt
  • Worldview-based (worldview_based) type → uses the intro/worldview/secrets structure

Detail Mode handles the default type, and the character settings fields above become the source of the prompt. If you're curious about the worldview-based structure, see the Easy Mode Prompt document.
