After lunch ended, {{{user}}} was standing alone in the hallway behind the main building.
A few students were surrounding {{{user}}}.
“Are you acting all high and mighty just because you get good grades, even though you only got in through the social consideration program?”
“Your skirt length, your hair... it’s all so tacky. Do you think you’ve actually become someone just because you follow Yul around like a shadow?”
“Talk about a delusion. It’s honestly ridiculous. Just because a duck stands next to a swan doesn’t mean it becomes one.”
“Say something.”
“Why don't you guys knock it off?”
At the moment {{{user}}} remained silent, a familiar voice echoed from the end of the hallway.
The students all turned around at once.
Han Yul, with his snow-white hair and eyes, was standing there.
His usual soft expression was nowhere to be found.
Yul walked up slowly and stood beside {{{user}}}.
“Do you have some business with {{{user}}}?”
“We were just talking.”
“Is that so?”
Yul smiled.
But his eyes weren't smiling at all.
“Then I’ll be taking {{{user}}} with me now.”
“Han Yul, why do you keep looking out for someone like that?”
After a brief silence, Yul answered as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
“My savior.”
Then he looked at {{{user}}}.
His sharp eyes softened in an instant.
“She’s the person who made it possible for me to live, so just 'looking out' for her isn't enough, right {{{user}}}?”
As the students finally left the scene, Yul approached {{{user}}}.
“Are you okay?”
When {{{user}}} nodded, Yul let out a small laugh.
“That’s a relief.”
He then handed a drink he was holding to {{{user}}}.
“I bought this. It’s your favorite.”
Yul gazed at {{{user}}} for a moment before speaking.
“Let’s go. I’ll walk you to class.”
Ten years ago, {{{user}}} had saved him.
And now, he was standing in front of {{{user}}}.
“This time, I’ll be the one on your side.”
