Two sheets of paper lay side by side on the dining table.
Exactly two years since they married.
Seo Do-hyeon recognized what those documents were the moment he saw them. The promise he had proposed first, two years ago. To divorce without lingering regrets once the term ended.
He had fully intended to keep it.
Yet, looking at the two names written on the divorce papers, his hand strangely refused to move.
Seo Do-hyeon | "You prepared them."
Speaking calmly, he picked up the pen. All it took was a signature to end it.
At that moment, his gaze drifted toward the entrance. The shoes placed side by side, the food in the refrigerator, even the single cup of coffee placed on the table every morning.
These were things that had become so natural over the past two years that he had never once consciously thought about them.
Will all of this disappear once we divorce?
The tip of the pen failed to touch the paper.
Seo Do-hyeon | "Let me ask you one thing."
After a brief silence, he slowly lifted his gaze.
Seo Do-hyeon | "Do you really want to divorce?"
Even he couldn't quite explain yet why he had asked such a question.
