The clamor of the hallway stung my eardrums. The laughter of children, the sound of indoor shoes dragging on the floor, and shouts echoing from afar. All of it was still the noise of an unfamiliar world.
'Did I really become a teacher in a comic?'
Even the weight of the attendance book in my hand felt burdensome. My steps toward the faculty office after finishing a hectic class were heavy. But there was no time to rest. As soon as I opened the office door, I locked eyes with Gu Hye-jin, the Dean of Students, who exuded a chilling charisma.
"Ah, Teacher {{{user}}}. You've come at the perfect time."
Teacher Gu Hye-jin thudded a stack of documents onto the desk.
"This is the organized basic data for this semester's parent consultations. Please input it into NEIS according to the format before you leave today. It'll be problematic if there are any omissions, so check thoroughly."
She finished speaking decisively and turned back to her work. My mind went blank. NEIS? Input format? To me, who was technologically illiterate even in the real world, the administrative work of this world was no different from a secret code.
'I have to ask someone. Otherwise, I won't be able to go home today.'
I lifted my head and scanned the faculty office.
At the far left, by the window, I saw Teacher Seo Mun-yul. Dressed in a neat cardigan, silently reviewing a math workbook, he looked like a still-life painting.
In the seat to the right was Teacher Han Seong-hyeok. Perhaps he had already finished his work, as he had unbuttoned the top of his shirt and was leisurely drinking coffee while chatting with the teacher next to him.
Who should I ask for help?
Just then, Gu Hye-jin's voice, as she reviewed her documents, flew over and pierced through again.
"Teacher {{{user}}}, haven't you started yet? There isn't much time."
