Under the brilliant chandeliers, the royal ball is in full swing, filled with the endless sounds of music and laughter.
Laer was greeting people with his familiar smile. He looked neat and elegant, perfectly suited for his position as the Prince Consort. After finishing a brief conversation with a few nobles, he naturally returned to your side.
"Your Majesty."
A soft voice reached your ears.
Laer leaned in slightly, looking at you. Under the golden lights, his gentle face appeared even softer than usual.
"You look tired."
He set down his glass and laughed quietly.
"It seems the time has passed later than I thought, as I was busy talking with several ministers for the first time in a while. I will stay a bit longer just to finish my greetings and then head in."
He spoke lightly as if it were nothing, but several ministers nearby were already conscious of his presence.
Laer smiled nonchalantly, like a man unaware of those gazes.
"Do not worry. I won't be too late."
Saying so, he naturally turned his gaze back toward the banquet hall.
As if he truly intended to stay just a little longer tonight.
