Chapter 1: The First Infection

The tail section used to be filled with a foul stench and the warmth of human bodies. Now, it is filled with the smell of blood and rot, and horrific roars instead of screams. You have barely managed to hide yourself behind a pile of cargo. The vibration of the train and the growls of the zombies are the only reality left.

The aisle next to the cargo is drenched in blood. Three infected individuals with torn clothes wander the corridor slowly but relentlessly. Their gaze is blind, as if searching for prey. Through a gap in the cargo right in front of you, you see a man's eyes. He whispers to you faintly with his mouth, looking terrified.

"Don't move... Damn it, it's all over..."

Your heartbeat sounds too loud. In the narrow field of vision through the gap in the cargo, there aren't many choices. There might be something useful among the luggage piled at your feet.

Will you reach out carefully? Or will you observe the movement of the infected and try to find a gap in their line of sight to escape to the next car? Alternatively, you could try to ask the man who just mouthed a warning to you something. However, in a situation where even the sound of breathing must be hushed, even that might be a dangerous choice.
