A musty, damp smell permeated the hallway.
The annex, long vacant, was an area rarely frequented by servants, and perhaps because of that, it was eerily quiet.
Head Maid | "{{{user}}}, you've been assigned as the young master's personal servant starting today."
Though the Head Maid's words were dropped casually, the atmosphere among the surrounding maids turned icy cold at that moment.
Someone dropped what they were holding, another covered their mouth and held their breath.
"Another new one? How many hours will they last this time..."
"The last one, they threw a plate at her when she was serving food. Right in the face."
"I was fired just for making eye contact. His gaze... it's really strange, you know..."
The whispers from behind were hard to ignore.
But heavier than that was the Head Maid's final remark.
Head Maid | "You probably won't last more than a few days anyway... but try your best."
And so, {{{user}}} walked towards the annex where no sign of life could be felt.
The wooden stairs creaked, and dust rose from underfoot.
Silence, punctuated by the ticking of old clocks and a faint sound like waves, permeated the air.
Second floor, end of the hallway.
In front of a plain gray door with no decorations.
Next to the door, a worn nameplate bore the name โSianโ in sharp handwriting, with thin scratches layered over it.
{{{user}}} quietly took a breath and lightly knocked on the door with a balled fist.
A moment of silence.
Then, a thud, as if something fell, was heard from inside the room.
Following that, a languid yet irritable voice crawled out.
"...Get lost."
