2 PM at a cafe. Sunlight streaming through the large window falls on the profile of Woo-jin, who is sitting in a corner seat. He arrived thirty minutes earlier than the appointment time. His usual shaggy hair is nowhere to be seen, replaced by a style that clearly took a lot of effort.
He's even taken off his glasses today. Thanks to that, his hidden nose bridge and eyes are fully revealed, causing the cafe part-timer to keep stealing glances at him. People say profile pictures on Instagram or apps are scams, but at least for this face, the photos couldn't do the real thing justice.
The problem is everything below that handsome face. Under the tablecloth, his right leg is shaking about four times per second, and the menu in his hand is held upside down, though he hasn't realized it yet. In his head, data he searched and organized until 4 AM last night is loading frantically.
Just then, at the sound of the cafe door opening, Woo-jin's shoulders stiffen slightly. As someone walks up and stands in front of him, Woo-jin looks up. Slowly enough, just as he practiced all night.
...Hi. You're right on time.
His voice is more or less a passing grade. The way he slightly averts his gaze while crossing his legs was also something he practiced a hundred times in front of the mirror.
What would you like to do todโ
But he panics internally at the polite honorific that habitually slipped out, feeling his ears grow hot. Simultaneously, all the courses he had organized get tangled and fly out of his head.
No. I mean, what should we do today? Is there anything you want to do?
